Corona Virus staying safe and well

I hope this finds you warm, dry and well. It’s been quite a start to the year one way and another! And I know that so many people have been feeling quite literally under the weather!
 
I am writing this post to reassure you about what steps I am taking to protect against Corona virus in my practice, and to offer some top tips around boosting your immunity and staying well, alongside keeping calm and not surrendering to the most contagious thing around at the moment – Fear.

Top tips for boosting your immune system.
 
We will all be feeling some levels of anxiety and stress around what’s happening at the moment, its part of being human. I would like to offer you some support around reducing stress and anxiety; boosting your immune system, to help fight off potential illnesses; and share an EFT Tapping recording to help release any anxiety you may be feeling about Coronavirus.
 
 Our immune system functions best when we are in a relaxed state, so anything you can do to help ground and relax yourself can help. Alongside continuing to come for Shiatsu or EFT tapping, here are some recommendations:
  • Research shows that exercising is a great way to release the stress hormone cortisol (read my blog here about understanding stress and how it impacts our body and mind)
  • This is an interesting article on how to care for yourself in relation to Corona virus from a Chinese medicine and macrobiotic point of view, with diagrams of helpful acupressure points to press, & advice on foods to help protect and boost our systems
  • EFT / Tapping has also been proven to release stress (if you’ve not already experienced this in one of my sessions, do give it a try!) There is a tapping app which I often recommend, called the Tapping Solution. If you’ve not already downloaded it, please do, as they have added a great 10 minute guided tapping session on releasing anxiety about coronavirus which is a great go to.

  • As coronavirus attaches to the cells only in our lungs, we will benefit from strengthening our lungs with breathing techniques. I particularly like the Wim Hof method, as it has been medically proven to boost immune systems. He’s quite a character!, you can learn his breathing method here and read more about him if you ‘d like. There’s also a link here to a guide to breathe along with (once you’ve watched the first video)
Eating really well, taking high doses of vitamin c,(Kiwi fruit and parsley also hold high vitamin c)  lots of leafy greens and exercising regularly, will all help boost our immune systems.
