Benefits of Shiatsu![]() Shiatsu is deeply relaxing, and it is in this relaxed state that the body can begin to heal. Physical and emotional difficulties can be shifted and transformed, with clients reporting a huge range of benefits, including a reduction in stress and stress related conditions, increase in quality sleep, a decrease in pain and symptoms, and an increase in their sense of wellness and wellbeing, and an increase in energy. My clients are often surprised by how their emotional state improves with Shiatsu, with some people referring to it as "counselling using the body"
Originating in Japan, and translating as "finger pressure", Shiatsu is a deep and powerful way to work with imbalances, difficulties or discomfort in our physical or emotional selves ![]() Shiatsu works an energy system of "Ki" or "chi" in the body, the same as with Acupuncture, but without the use of needles.
Each treatment is tailored exactly to the clients needs. No two treatments are the same, and I have no "fixed routine" for any one particular condition or situation. Each client is encouraged to share their experience through a consultation process so we can work together to support a journey to better health, and wellbeing |
![]() Shiatsu is practised by touch through clothing, to connect with the energy meridians. Using hands, or fingers, points can be pressed, meridian Ki is supported to flow, and joints or limbs can be stretched or rotated to encourage the smooth flow of Ki throughout the system, encouraging a return to equilibrium.
![]() Hannah is also trained in giving Accupressure facials. Facial Acupressure therapy treats the unique structure of the face to support emotional and stress relief. It also incorporates working with the Chinese Acupressure facial map to benefit the whole body.
Treatments involve preparing the skin and having an extremely relaxing treatment in which you will feel pampered and become deeply relaxed. You will feel and look revitalised it's a very safe treatment and good for those with chronic conditions, or with jaw tension or teeth grinding. Available at both locations as an individual treatment or combined with Shiatsu for a delicous 90 minute Treat! |

As practitioners, we are trained over 3 years (and one post graduate year) to recognise how to support and empower our clients to move to a better state of wellbeing. We use a wide range of techniques, along with a good understanding of western medicine anatomy, physiology and pathology.
The underlying principle of Shiatsu treatment is that illness and pain occur when the body's ki, or vital energy, cannot flow freely. There can be many reasons for this; emotional and physical stress, poor nutrition, infection or injury are among the most common. By working specific acupressure points or Ki meridians, Shiatsu seeks to re-establish the free flow of Ki to restore balance and trigger the body's natural healing response
