Support for children and young people struggling with anxiety
Anxiety is rife at the moment, and sadly even more so for children and young people. It can affect us all in a number of different ways, and there is no better tool (in my opinion!) than E.F.T. to help manage and release anxiety - especially for children and young people. Once they've learnt it, it can be available to them anywhere, any time, day or night - literally at their fingertips. Children respond so quickly and effectively to this technique - it's brilliant!
Anxiety can affect different children in different ways, and it's not always immediately obvious to spot. Here's a list of some common symptoms you may not always associate with anxiety:
In my experience, the best results are when I work together with the parents /guardians as a team, to really support the child/ young person. I work via zoom, offering 1:1, family support sessions, as well as running group workshops for parents/guardians or professionals working with children and young people. "I joined Hannah for a masterclass, which was towards the end of summer when we were all fed up, struggling with the unknowns of the pandemic, excited yet anxious about going back to school and returning to some sort of normality was taking it’s toll. |

Work with me:
I offer an initial 90 minute consultation for parents/ guardians, without the child present. Here we explore whats going on for a child, and how it's impacting them and you! I teach the parent/guardian E.F.T. tapping, for themselves, so they can support the child, and we discuss the needs of the individual child and family and how best to work together. My expectation is that the Parent / Guardian continues to tap on themselves and to support the child in tapping regularly too.
Sometimes I work solely with the parent/guardian, and this can create big shifts in the family dynamics.
I can also work with the child and Parent/Guardian together and we will explore this in our initial consultation - as to how best together we can support the needs of the child. I see it very much as a team effort!
When working with a family, depending on the age of the child, and circumstance, we look at exploring whats going on for them. We look at identifying and understanding triggers; helping to understand more about how thoughts and feelings can impact one another, and to recognise whats happening, and how to de-esculate and reduce those strong feelings and emotions using E.F.T. tapping so they are not so powerful and overwhelming. Once the skills is mastered I encourage everyone to try it on everything!
Currently all sessions are held on Zoom. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch, or book your initial consultation using the booking button below!

Research into E.F.T, Anxiety and gifted children
Dr Peta Stapleton from Australia is a leading figure in research into the effectiveness in EFT. she writes:
"Dr. Amy Gaesser and colleagues have examined gifted students and how EFT Tapping might help them. It is suggested gifted children may experience additional stressors due to their unique characteristics and they may suffer from higher levels of stress due to perfectionistic tendencies, heightened sensitivity, social challenges, and additional external pressures.
This study took place in 10 schools (eight public/two private; four high schools/six middle schools) in two north-eastern states in America. There were 63 high-ability students (aged 10-18 years) who were identified as anxious - and were within the top 15 percent to 20 percent of their peer groups academically.
Students were randomly allocated to an EFT group, a CBT group, or a waitlist control group (all groups had 21 students.) Those students in the CBT or EFT treatment groups received three individual sessions of treatment. Sessions occurred over a 5-month period, with most occurring not less than one week or more than two weeks apart.
The EFT group showed significant reductions in their anxiety levels compared with the waitlist control group, and while the CBT students showed a reduction in anxiety too, they did not differ significantly from the EFT students. What this meant was the EFT was comparable to a gold standard treatment like CBT and could achieve the same outcomes. Larger trials are necessary but at least the evidence is promising."
