Setting up practice can be a daunting thing, with plenty of challenges to be addressed, and can feel very isolating after 3 years of being in a group training. This supervision group is intended to really support you to thrive and flourish in your practice; feel confident and professional, and not alone in what you are doing.
This is a place to bring your challenges, share and learn from one another, be supported, witnessed and gently challenged to really step into your practice with confidence and joy.
Common difficulties faced which can be brought to the group can range from practical difficulties with managing a practice from:
-
Where to practice?
-
How much to charge?
-
How to take bookings and manage cancellations?
-
Through to time-keeping,
-
How to manage those really chatty clients,
-
or ones who are always late!
-
or how many to see in one day etc.
Challenges can also be around issues of confidence in your practice, or complexities that clients may show up with. This is a place to bring those vulnerabilities, questions and explore how that might be impacting on you, and what parts of yourself may be in need of support or clarity in that.
Issues around boundaries, ethics, money, and burnout, are ones we all face as practitioners; The issues listed are suggestions and you are welcome to bring anything which may be impacting you in your practice to be brought to the group.

As a group we will commit to listening deeply and openly, and to really supporting one another in our journeys.
Each session will be long enough to include and allow each group member to bring something you may be struggling with to the group, and the opportunity to contribute towards that individual if you feel moved to do so.
As a group member you will be invited to commit to a full programme of Supervision, and to honour your commitment to attend, not only for yourself, and your own development, but also as a contribution to the others in the group.
You will be asked to pay in advance of the session and agree to pay for missed sessions.
You will be invited to commit to a full series of six group sessions, held about 6 weeks apart. Dates will be agreed and set in advance to allow for as much planning around them as possible so you can commit well ahead.
The group will run every 6-8 weeks. The first session will last a little longer, then run for 2-3 hours depending on the group size, which will be no bigger than six.
I also offer 1:1 supervision which can be held in person or online.

So, who am I?
A fully trained and qualified Supervisor, I started my training as a Shiatsu practitioner in 2000 with the Bristol School of Shiatsu, then trained as an E.F.T. (Emotional Freedom Technique) Practitioner whilst living in New Zealand, in the early noughties.
I returned to the UK choosing to complete my Shiatsu training with the Bristol School of Shiatsu, where I had begun my training, and continued as a teaching assistant for three years, before moving onto assisting on postgraduate courses with Keith Phillips. I have also completed various Shiatsu postgraduate trainings with other teachers such as Bill Palmer and movement Shiatsu, Gabriella Polli, Mercedes Nunez and Suzanne Yates
I have run training programmes, personal development workshops and facilitated workshops for over 25 years in different guises, and bring a wealth of experience to this role.
As a practitioner I have a thriving private practice in Bristol, and Devon and also run online sessions, and group workshops.
I receive regular Supervision, Group and 1:1, and wouldn’t be thriving in my practice for as long as I have without it. I see it as an integral part of my Practice, alongside receiving regular Shiatsu of course!
I am passionate about Shiatsu, and wish to create a place of community and support for fellow practitioners to really thrive.
I trained with Macmillan as a volunteer, giving Shiatsu to cancer patients and have also worked for Macmillan and Penny Brohn UK supporting cancer patients.
I love learning and have completed numerous CPD courses over the years to really enrich my understanding and practice. I also trained with Dr Rosie Daniels as a Health Creation Coach, and more recently with the Supervision and Mentoring network as a Supervisor.
I am also a member of the Mentoring and Supervision network steering group, promoting and advocating for Supervision in all complimentary health practices.
